Free Download for Tic Tic Boom's Residency!

On Wednesday, May 23 we’re breaking our Silverlake virginity and playing with our friends Tic Tic Boom! for their Lot 1 Residency.  Here is a download of our song Sweet Melodies, as well as a dl from Tic Tic Boom and Odd Modern. Hope to see you Wednesday!!

This is a video from our early performance at Fullerton College’s High School Theatre Festival. The kids were awesome; it was just us feeding off of their energy for a full hour.

Our next show is at Detroit Bar with Names in Vains, Laura Meyer and Robert John & The Wreck. We play at 9pm sharp, free, 21+.

  • 5/7/12 - Detroit Bar for Names In Vain Residency Night #1 - Costa Mesa, CA - 21+ - FREE

We’re working on new music to bring to these next few shows! We’re also working on more shows outside of LA, so if you know of any venues or bands we should hit up, let us know :)

BTW, we played at the High School Theater Festival at Fullerton College last Friday… that was seriously the most energetic group of people we’ve seen awake on a Friday morning. They were awake way more than we were at first.

On a random note, we went to Sea World for a friend’s birthday last Saturday. It was raining, and it was cold. That only means that there were no crowd. We rode the raft ride about 3 times before we started to lose feeling in our frozen bodies.

Hope to see you in LA in the next couple of weeks :) We’re excited, bring friends!

Just announced! We’re opening for Foxy Shazam at The Slidebar Rock n’ Roll Cafe in Fullerton. 21+ and FREE!

Upcoming Shows and Us Talking Too Much

The OC Music Awards Showcase series ended tonight! We caught our friends The Devious Means and their amazing performance. It was so awesome to be part of it all this year, along with being able to catch most of the brilliant performances put on by all the bands during the past 2 months of Tuesday nights. Thank you to everyone that came out to support our showcase at The Slidebar!! It was a crazy fun night, and you all made it as exciting as it could have been :)

Also, we FINALLY have some all-ages shows booked, even in Los Angeles and Long Beach! Dang… we’re totally on a roll here. Below are the upcoming shows in the next couple of weeks. Bring your buddies and your dogs (we love dogs)!

  • February 22, 2012 - UCLA Global Get Down **All Ages** - Los Angeles, CA
  • February 23, 2012 - La Cave - Costa Mesa, CA
  • March 2, 2012 - She Raw Queer Dance Party - Long Beach, CA
  • March 7, 2012 - The Observatory **All Ages** - Santa Ana, CA

Buena Park’s retro-electro pop duo We Are/She Is (the name is an answer to the obvious question provoked by earlier project He’s Not Gay) make the kind of KROQ music KROQ built its name on with big-beat drums, oscillating keyboards and the kind of digi-toned harmonies the Bangles and the Go-Go’s would have been all over if only the technology was there. They’re up for an OCMA Best Live Band award, most likely because the second thing they’ll say in interviews is about energetic crowd participation. If you heard a certain happy-sad Feist-y hook on The Real L Word, well, that was them, too.

Some bands are about the hustle; some bands are about the flow. Buena Park-based indie synth-pop duo, We Are/She Is, definitively, passionately embraces both. Merilou Salazar and Jessie Meehan bring their giddy, glossy tunes to the masses with both freewheeling, “DGAF” charm (as Salazar likes to put it) and street-smart perseverance.

Our show on December 15 with The Naked and Famous at The Observatory (formerly The Galaxy) was soooo awesome! The crowd was great, TNAF put on an AMAZING show and it was just an overall fun experience. The new sound system at The Observatory sounded brilliant (I hope so given that it’s a brand new million dollar system).

Lots of new and exciting news for 2012! Hope to see everyone at more shows getting their dance grooves on :)
